Yep, after a week I’m convinced

After a week of running Bodhi Linux on my Chromebook I’m convinced. The software is stable, functional, and complete. It does everything Ubuntu can do only it is stable. Ubuntu keeps updating itself into the Chromebook so it disables the touchpad. Bodhi doesn’t do that. You use Synaptics Package Manager in Bodhi and it doesn’t overwrite the files needed to keep things running.

So it’s not Windows, which has it’s limitations. But, it’s not Windows , which is also a big plus. I got Google Earth running on it with a kmz plug-in that I use regularly for work. And I got Filezillla working so I can update my website software as needed.

I have also found that Libre Office has a scanner function in it that works with my Canon scanner to import files and then convert them as needed.

Bodhi can also access my iPhone with the Nautilus file manager, which is easy to put in. It then can download photos and manage music files. It is all pretty straightforward.

So I suppose the next thing to do having shed Microsoft and Apple, at least to some extent, is to convert my iPhone to an Adroid device. When my 2 year contract is up in April I will probably do that. The Turbo Droid is looking fairly nice at this point. The LG G3 is also a great phone from what I can see. Of course I need to get into the store and hold the larger phones to be sure they agree with my hands and their arthritis. They certainly should agree with my aging eyes! Ha.
